How To Do: 7 tips (common sense) to create a successful blog

How To Do:
7 tips (common sense) to create a successful blog

If you propose to build a blog in time to make a profit, there are some very important issues that need to Register. Mistakes made at the beginning are mistakes that create limitations. Although not very obvious at first, in time will prevent you from getting the most out of your blog.

1. Use a platform that will grow with you

Using a free platform like Blogger, Blogspot or WordPress.com seems a very easy option to start your own blog. And so it is, but then you can hit a wide range of problems.
First, using a free platform can give you an image of unprofessionalism. Secondly you have little control over the blog and you can hit the limitations on the design and customization. Thirdly, some platforms may insert advertising as "fee" for using.
The best way to start your blog is to buy your domain and hosting to pay for that field. Compared to starting a business in the real world, virtual world business startup cost is insignificant.
After you've bought the domain and hosting you pay you have to install a blogging platform (I recommend WordPress) to choose a template and go through some important steps described here. These things are very hard to learn, but can be daunting for novice bloggers.

2. Choose an attractive niche

You know you want to write? Choosing a niche to write about is one of the most important decisions to be taken by a novice blogger. A well chosen niche can make the difference between a successful blog and a blog that will fail. In choosing your niche must answer the following questions:
• How are you passionate about the topic?
• It is a topic vast enough to dedicate a blog?
The reason must be passionate about the subject of the blog is that you have to write articles regularly for the next few years without losing your interest or not to stay out of ideas.
To attract a wide range of readers should write about an interesting topic for many people. If you choose a niche all too narrow, you limit the size of the blog even before the start.

3. Carefully choose the name and title / motto

It's an art to choose a name for your blog. Name and motto you have to create a brand and to draw readers' benefits. For example BloggerIn.ro and motto is "blogger in Romania". Taken together, the blog name and the motto should illustrate what will be written on the blog.
Of course the domain name and blog name should be identical. Some bloggers make the mistake to use their own name as the name for the blog. This can be a good choice only if your name is already well known, if you're a celebrity. If necessary, choose another name because otherwise it will be very hard to create a brand name that has nothing associated.

4. Create a brand

A brand is a way to bind a product a business benefit, an idea, a logo, an image. Any blog can be seen as a product, so if you want to create a successful blog, the brand is very important.

5. Choose a flexible design

If you build a WordPress blog platform, you can choose from thousands of free themes. There are many important aspects to consider when choosing a template, for example, how many columns you need, background color, header, font used, etc..
One of the main problems of free WordPress themes is that the platform is in constant evolution and so is quite often a new version. Because WordPress is a "open source" any developer can create a new topic, but what happens when you choose free theme designer did not change the theme so that it is compatible with the new version? If this happens then you have nothing to do but to seek a new topic.
I think it's worth thinking long term when choosing your theme. I use this blog since the beginning of a theme called Thesis. Whenever WordPress releases a new version is already customized Thesis properly. For example you can create one, two or three columns, you can change the font, background color or many other aspects of design without having to know anything about programming.

6. Write quality content

Content is the cornerstone of a blog. A quality content must meet the following conditions:
• To have useful information for target audiences;
• be well structured;
• be well written in an accessible language;
• The information sought to be as easy to find.
It would be very much to say about how to write quality content. This is an art that will have to learn as you develop you to create a community around your blog.

7. Create a community

The main reason why many bloggers quit after the first six months of activity is that they do not know to develop a community around your blog. It's not easy to gather people around a blog, but not very hard:
• Provide value through content (extremely important).
• Offer something for free. Any
• always respond to comments and questions.
• Do polls.
• always ask readers and involve them in decisions you make about the blog.
